As many of you know, Artsweek was scheduled for the last week of September. The Festival has been rescheduled for May 5 to 14, 2023.
Like many others in the arts community, our organization has been negatively impacted by COVID-19, including critical labour shortages that, despite our best recruiting efforts and a reorganization of our production model, made it impossible to staff the festival properly. As well, our core staff team at EC3 faced serious health challenges (including COVID-19), and we were unable to simply just take on all the additional Artsweek responsibilities that the labour shortage created.
After extensive consultation and serious deliberations, EC3 made the tough decision to move the Festival forward to the Spring of 2023. A Spring date has many advantages and we are thrilled to report that all of the Artsweek artists who received grants, have confirmed that their projects can and will go ahead May 5 to 14, 2023. Our endless thanks go out them for their support, encouragement, hard work and commitment to making the Festival be the best it can be. Please save those dates and watch for Artsweek announcements.
