Location: Commerce Building Courtyard (2 Bankers Common). Can access via the alleyway on Hunter Street and Water Street.

Area description: The courtyard is located at the northwest corner of Water and Hunter streets, behind the St. Veronus Café. The area is flat and paved. The location will be busy with crowds. Fire eaters and stilt walkers will also be walking around the area.

Washrooms: Yes, will be available in the nearby restaurants.

Sighted guides: Yes, a sighted guide will be available.

Nearest bus stops: Peterborough downtown terminal located one block from the courtyard.

Parking: Street parking.

Possible concerns: Loud static noise emitted from fans.

3C84 Concert and Stargazing

Date/time: Friday, May 5/ 9 – 10 pm

Location: Heritage Pavilion on Armour Hill 300 (Hunter Street East)

Area description: Located behind the Peterborough Museum and Archives. The location will be at the top of the hill on Armour Road. The area contains uneven, bumpy terrain. If poor weather conditions arise, the ground may be wet and slippery. Additional lighting will be used to improve vision.

Washrooms: Yes, but not wheelchair accessible.

Sighted guides: Yes, a sighted guide will be available.

Parking: Parking lot at the Peterborough Museum and Archives.

Nearest bus stops: Weller bus stops at 7:00 pm.

Artsweek 2023 Invitational Peterborough Poetry Slam

Date/time: Thursday, May 11/ 7 – 9:30 pm

Location: Peterborough Square Courtyard, corner of Water and Charlotte Streets (Peterborough Square indoors for poor weather conditions).

Area description: The concrete courtyard is a wide-open space, with ramps and built-in seating. Peterborough Square also contains ramps and an elevator to reach the lower floor, with seating and tables scattered around the building. 

Washrooms: Yes, accessible washrooms located inside Peterborough Square.

Sighted guides: Yes, a sighted guide will be available.

Parking: Yes, street parking, and the Peterborough Square underground parking garage.

Nearest bus stops: Located one block from the downtown Peterborough bus terminal.

Location: Regional Farmers’ Market (215 Charlotte Street),

Area description: The location is wide-open with a paved, flat surface, with no steps. The area will be very crowded.

Washrooms: Wheelchair accessible public bathrooms are available in the Peterborough Public Library, located on Aylmer Street beside the Shoppers Drug Mart.

Parking: Yes, street parking, and King Street Parkade is located around the corner from Quaker Foods City Square.

Area description: The location is wide-open with paved pathways and even grassy terrain. Seating is scattered around the park along with trees to offer shade.

Washrooms: Yes, a wheelchair accessible public bathroom is in the Silver Bean Café.

Parking: Yes, parking lot at King and Water Street.

Nearest bus stops: Yes, located within three blocks of the downtown Peterborough bus terminal.

Possible concerns: Railway tracks opposite the trail may create a tripping hazard when coming through the King Street entrance. An easier walking route may be through the Charlotte Street entrance.

Dark Eyes: Granny Tales

Date/time: Friday May 12, 8:30 & 9:30 pm

Location: The parking lot behind the Theatre on King (171 King Street)

Area description: Accessing the parking lot requires travelling through an alleyway beside the Theatre on King. The parking lot is a wide-open space with paved gravel.

Washrooms: Yes, a wheelchair accessible bathroom is inside the venue.

Parking: Yes, street parking, and King Street Parkade is located across from the theatre.

Location: Trees in downtown Peterborough.

Area description: Sidewalks are paved and even. May be noisy due to traffic stops and passing cars.

Location: Outside the Ministry of Natural Resources (300 Water Street)

Area description: Sidewalk is paved and even. May be noisy in the downtown area due to traffic stops and passing cars.

Nearest bus stops: All Look Out! installations will be within one to two blocks of the downtown Peterborough bus terminal.

Porchapalooza

Date/time: Saturday, May 6 and Sunday, May 7/ 1 – 5:30 pm

Location: Gilmour St. neighbourhood (Saturday) and Waterford St. neighbourhood (Sunday)

Area description: Neighbourhoods have flat, even sidewalks. However, the location offers little shade.

Washrooms: No public washrooms.

Sighted guide: A sighted guide may be available.

Parking: Yes, street parking on Charlotte Street and Waterford Street.

Nearest bus stops: Take the Park route and get off at Charlotte.

Possible concerns: Several steep lips between the sidewalk and street. Tour participation will also require travelling for a few blocks to reach each house. A tour guide will be available to communicate travel and help group members.

Area description: Wide-open space with compressed gravel. Lush forestry surrounding the trails for shade.

Parking: Yes, street level parking at the Bonaccord entrance. Parking lot at the Parkhill Entrance.

Nearest bus stops: For the Bonaccord entrance, take the Park route and get off at Park at Dublin (Northbound) or Bonaccord (Southbound). For the Parkhill entrance, get off at Parkhill at Faibairn (Eastbound/Westbound).

Possible concerns: The Trans-Canada Trail may be rocky and uneven in places. If travelling from the Bonaccord entrance (beside Hamilton Park), the walk to the Pagoda Bridge would take approximately 5 to 10 minutes. The Parkhill entrance may pose walking difficulties due to unevenness and rockiness in slope.

Location: Sidewalk outside of Peterborough Public Library (345 Aylmer Street North).

Area description: The sidewalk is smoothly paved with wheelchair accessible ramps.

Woodland & The Wilds Promenade

Area description: The Riverview Park & Zoo is an accessible open space with flat surfaces and paved walkways. Seating will be available.
