This year Artsweek is seeking high-energy, passionate, art-loving folks to help
out throughout the festival – September 23 – October 2, 2016.

Come to the Artsweek Volunteer Info Meet & Greet
Wednesday September 21, at noon & 6pm  at Millennium Park beside the Silver Bean cafe.
If you are interested in being a part of this 10-day arts festival please contact us or just show up!

All ten days will require volunteers with an emphasis on
Porchapalooza- Sunday, September 25 between 3:00 – 7:00 pm
and New Moon Afternoon – Saturday, October 1 between 1:00 – 8:00 pm

The following is a list of duties and responsibilities to insure
that everyone is doing what they do best.

  • Ushers & Greeters- When guests arrive at an event you will welcome them, answer any questions they may have, and seat them (if applicable to the situation). At certain events you will be required to represent Artsweek and assist with donation collections.
  • Site set up and tear down – setting up tents and chairs and striking.
  • Site Security- During certain performances and exhibits you will be required for crowd control and safety.
  • Technical Assistance- Some exhibits and acts require technical elements. Assist the artist in set up and production.

BLINK – Eight commissioned artists are working in a variety of media and styles to transform storefronts and our downtown streetscape into works of art. Ushers are required during guided tours on Friday, Sept. 23 at 7:00 pm and 8:00 pm, Tuesday, Sept. 27 at 2:00 pm, Wednesday, Sept. 28 at 7:00 pm, Saturday, Oct 1 at 8:00 pm, Sunday, Oct 2 at 2:00 pm (1-2 hours).


WORDS Artists who make their Works of-Art-in-Language will be exhibiting fresh works for the public to encounter throughout the city. Ushers & Greeters required at a variety of activities – please check out WORDS page


PORCHAPALOOZA – East City verandahs will be transformed into musical stages for audiences young and old to enjoy a movable feast of live music in a smorgasbord of styles. Ushers and Greeters are required during 3 walking tours of musical porches on Sunday, Sept. 5 between 3:00 – 7:00 pm.


POP-UPS – Artistic exhibits and performances will show up around town throughout the 10 day festival. Ushers & Greeters required at a variety of activities – please check out Pop-Up page


NEW MOON AFTERNOON – Create your own adventure and be charmed, amazed and engaged with this line-up of exciting art-filled happenings taking place throughout the day in Millennium Park. Greeters, Site crew and Tech required on Saturday, October 1 between 1:00 – 8:00 pm.
