Circus Shoppe on George St. provided a beautiful backdrop last night for a gathering to celebrate a home grown book project Neighborhoods. Neighborhoods, an Artsweek project was curated and assembled by local artist and letterpress master Jeff Macklin. The hour included introductions, readings of short stories and poems from the book, and a couple of tunes from local songstress Evangeline Gentle. It was definitely a packed house, but an incredibly lovely experience. Although I arrived a little late, and had to squeeze myself in to a back corner I still felt privileged to have been a part of it. Congratulations Jeff on the successful execution of a great project.
